Where This Tribal Couple Painting Suits

Our karigars prepare the palm leaf, then draw the figures in fine black lines and fill them in by hand. The man wears a white dhoti with a yellow and green waistband and ornaments; the woman wears a red patterned skirt, necklaces and anklets, her hair tied up. Green trees stand on either side, and a zigzag black and cream ring runs around the border. Look closely at the thin cane sticks of the frame: they are joined by hand, so each frame sits slightly differently.
