This durga mata mandir piece shows Kali Mata in black stone, standing with her tongue stretched out and one foot planted on a figure lying on its back beneath her. She has four arms: a curved sword in the upper right hand, a severed head in the upper left, a small bowl in the lower right, and a small object in the lower left that is hard to make out. In tradition, Kali is the fierce form of the Goddess, honoured as the one who stands against fear and darkness.
Kali Mata Idol, Carved in Black Stone
Our karigars shape each Kali Mata murti by hand in stone, working from the rough outline down to the smallest carved line. The stone is then polished to a dark, glossy black that shows every cut of the chisel. Look at the crown first: it is ornate, with a carved disc rising behind the head like a halo. Long necklaces, armlets and bangles are carved across the body, and the legs stand wide apart in a strong stance. The figure rests on an oval base with a carved edge. Many shoppers miss the figure under the feet, so look closely at the base when it arrives. The idol stands 2.5 feet tall, which suits a home temple or a small mandir hall. Wipe it with a soft dry cloth and keep it away from harsh cleaners. Under the flicker of a diya, the polished surface picks up the light along the sword, the crown and the jewellery.

Made Exclusively for You
The artwork displayed in the image is a one-of-a-kind handcrafted piece. As our creations are individually made, the exact piece shown may already be sold or may not be currently available. Should you place an order, a new piece will be specially handcrafted for you with the same care and detail.
Being entirely handmade, slight variations in colour, fine detailing, or finish may appear when compared to the original image. These subtle differences are not flaws — they are the signature of authentic, handcrafted art, and a mark of the human touch behind every piece.
Thoughtful Packaging & Safe Delivery
We understand that each artwork is precious. Every piece is carefully packed using protective materials to ensure it reaches you in pristine condition. Fragile creations are given special attention, with secure wrapping and reinforced packaging designed to safeguard the artwork throughout its journey to your doorstep.
Caring for Your Artwork
To preserve the beauty of your piece for years to come, a few simple steps go a long way. For paintings on cloth and palm leaf, keep your artwork away from direct sunlight and excessive moisture, as these may affect the natural colours over time. Dust gently with a soft, dry cloth, and avoid using water or chemical cleaners. For traditional palm leaf (Tala Patra) works, store in a dry environment to maintain the integrity of the leaf.
Stone artworks are durable by nature and can be placed both indoors and outdoors, making them a beautiful addition to gardens, balconies, and open spaces as well as interior settings.
