This hand painted krishna balaram art draws the eye first to a chariot with two big round orange wheels and a lotus-petal base, carrying two seated figures under a domed, arched canopy. One figure is pale-skinned and the other darker, sitting side by side, each raising one hand, though what they hold is not clear from the photo. This is the Mathura Vijay scene, where Krishna and Balaram ride into Mathura, a story Pattachitra painters of Odisha have told for generations.

Krishna and Balaram on the Chariot

Two white horses in red, pink and green saddle cloths and gold ornaments pull the chariot to the left. A figure beside them holds a thin stick or rod. Six women in bright saris and jewellery gather around, and one kneels on the grass in front of the wheels. Trees with turquoise leaves and white blossoms stand on green ground dotted with tufts of white grass. The easy detail to miss is the fine dotted work on the clothes and ornaments, made with the very tip of the brush.

Our karigars paint it in the Pattachitra way: flat colour, firm outlines and bright fills, with a wide green border of flowers and leaves and a thin pink band inside it. The painting comes in a black frame with a wide white mat, ready to hang. Wipe the glass with a dry soft cloth and keep it away from damp walls. On a living room wall, the orange wheels and green border pick up daylight and bring warmth to the room.

The Art of Handcrafted Heritage

Made Exclusively for You

The artwork displayed in the image is a one-of-a-kind handcrafted piece. As our creations are individually made, the exact piece shown may already be sold or may not be currently available. Should you place an order, a new piece will be specially handcrafted for you with the same care and detail.

Being entirely handmade, slight variations in colour, fine detailing, or finish may appear when compared to the original image. These subtle differences are not flaws — they are the signature of authentic, handcrafted art, and a mark of the human touch behind every piece.

Thoughtful Packaging & Safe Delivery

We understand that each artwork is precious. Every piece is carefully packed using protective materials to ensure it reaches you in pristine condition. Fragile creations are given special attention, with secure wrapping and reinforced packaging designed to safeguard the artwork throughout its journey to your doorstep.

Caring for Your Artwork

To preserve the beauty of your piece for years to come, a few simple steps go a long way. For paintings on cloth and palm leaf, keep your artwork away from direct sunlight and excessive moisture, as these may affect the natural colours over time. Dust gently with a soft, dry cloth, and avoid using water or chemical cleaners. For traditional palm leaf (Tala Patra) works, store in a dry environment to maintain the integrity of the leaf.

Stone artworks are durable by nature and can be placed both indoors and outdoors, making them a beautiful addition to gardens, balconies, and open spaces as well as interior settings.
