This goddess saraswati pattachitra painting shows Maa Saraswati seated under a temple-style arch, a veena held across her body in two hands. She has four arms, a tall orange mukut on her head and a calm, still face. In her other hands she holds a small lotus-topped stick and a flat orange object that looks like a book or palm leaf. A white swan, her vahana, sits on the steps below. Devotees pray to Saraswati as the goddess of knowledge, music and learning.

How We Make This Saraswati Pattachitra

Our karigars in Odisha paint this piece by hand on canvas. They use flat, bold colours and fine black lines, the way Pattachitra has always been done. The background is deep red, with small white sprigs scattered inside the arch. Her skin is yellow and her lower garment is blue with tiny dots. Look at the four green parrots in the upper corners, against a blue sky with clouds. Many people miss them at first. The wide border has peacock-feather motifs and flowers in black, teal, pink and yellow. Wipe the painting gently with a dry cloth and keep it away from damp walls. On a study room wall or beside your pooja space, the red and yellow stand out even in soft light.

Painted for Your Home Temple

We pick every painting by looking at the line work and the colours up close. Our karigars can paint a custom size or a matching piece, such as a Ganesha or Lakshmi in the same style. If you want to know anything about this Saraswati, just send us a message.

The Art of Handcrafted Heritage

Every piece offered at Janijatra is an original work of art, handcrafted by skilled artisans who carry forward Odisha's centuries-old traditions of Pattachitra and Tala Patra Chitra. Each stroke is made by hand, making every creation distinct, soulful, and impossible to replicate exactly.

Made Exclusively for You

The artwork displayed in the image is a one-of-a-kind handcrafted piece. As our creations are individually made, the exact piece shown may already be sold or may not be currently available. Should you place an order, a new piece will be specially handcrafted for you with the same care and detail.

Being entirely handmade, slight variations in colour, fine detailing, or finish may appear when compared to the original image. These subtle differences are not flaws — they are the signature of authentic, handcrafted art, and a mark of the human touch behind every piece.

Thoughtful Packaging & Safe Delivery

We understand that each artwork is precious. Every piece is carefully packed using protective materials to ensure it reaches you in pristine condition. Fragile creations are given special attention, with secure wrapping and reinforced packaging designed to safeguard the artwork throughout its journey to your doorstep.

Caring for Your Artwork

To preserve the beauty of your piece for years to come, a few simple steps go a long way. For paintings on cloth and palm leaf, keep your artwork away from direct sunlight and excessive moisture, as these may affect the natural colours over time. Dust gently with a soft, dry cloth, and avoid using water or chemical cleaners. For traditional palm leaf (Tala Patra) works, store in a dry environment to maintain the integrity of the leaf.

Stone artworks are durable by nature and can be placed both indoors and outdoors, making them a beautiful addition to gardens, balconies, and open spaces as well as interior settings.
