This large saraswati murti stone statue stands 6 Feet in height and shows Goddess Saraswati seated on a wide throne, holding a veena across her lap, with her other two hands raised, one holding a strand of beads and the other a book. A swan sits at her feet. Saraswati is known among devotees as the goddess of learning, music and speech.

Pink stone is the base material here, and the rosy tone runs right through the carving, not just on the surface. The crown rises into a tall pointed shape, framed by a wide arch carved with scrollwork, small figures and a face at the top centre. Her jewellery is carved in layers, bangles, waist bands and long hanging tassels down both sides of the throne. The veena rests across her lap with its long curved neck, carved with fine string lines. Standing 6 Feet tall, this statue needs a spot with open floor space and a clear line of sight, such as a large hall used for gatherings or prayer. Dust settles quickly in the carved folds of the crown and jewellery, so whisk these areas gently with a dry, soft-bristled brush every few days.
